Happy Anniversary Card

I am photographer for real, I promise

Today is my parent's 31st annivesary. WhooooooooooooHooooooooooooo and counting. So here is the story. Now my dad came home late yesterday and was like. "Oh by the way Janine can you make a card for your mom for me to give to her on our Anniversary" I was looking cross eyed at my dad because it was like 10:30pm. "Daddy are you for real" He was like " yes" So I went to my room and started pulling out my paper and weird stuff I like to use and went to work. I didn't finish until about 12:30am. So my Dad gives her the card this morning and my mom is like " I knew Janine was making me a card, I told her I don't want any more store brought cards" I said Mama for real you knew I was making the card all this time" Needless to say she liked it and is not expecting another store brought card ever, she said it's a waste of money. Pressure on, Thanks Mommy!

Mother's Day Cards

Mama love green!

I made this one for my dad to give to my mom

Well Mother's day was last weekend. I love my mommy and grandmothers so much. We had a great time. We took them out to eat and just enjoyed the company. But the night before I was up making Mother's day cards. Can I tell you my room looked like a hurricane came through, I had paper and glue and stickers everywhere. It was awesome to be in work mode like that once again. But they turned out great at least I think so and my mother and grandmother really like them and that's all that matters.

Senior Art Show

My two favorite people

Now Thursday Night was sweet! I went to the senior artshow competition at Leymone Art Gallery. Some of my sweeties from S.A.I.L. high school had entries and my other sweetie Ms. Sydney had a photo entry also. It's amazing to see the work that these teenagers produce. I was not thinking like this when I was 17-18 years old. I was able to see my old high school art teachers and talk with them about the work I was doing and what their kids are learning. It was a fabulous night!

The Essential Theater Presents...

Yea! The Essential Theater on FAMU"s campus, is a about to put on their first production of the year and I am so excited. When I was a student at FAMU, I love going to the plays put on by the Essential Theater. They were so good. They had some really great actors and some of them aren't even theater majors. This is where I first saw the play Dream Girls performed and it sold out every night. I am so excited! The Essential Theater Presents Crowns , it is a gospel type play and is based off the Book Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry. This outta be good. It's this weekend the 26th-28th. I think I might get my ticket and go on the 27th. (It is a pay day you know hehehe)

So on of my homies had a birthday on Saturday. She is a wonderful 25 years of age. She and planned a spa and dinner day for all her friends to join her. I was not able to participate in these activities but met them at dinner to give her the card that I made for her. I dusted off the craft skills and started the creative tank of ideas again. 4Q Embroidery Fun!

It's been a while since I have done anything Fiber related. The 4Q has taken up most of my time. So I decide to combine fibers and 4Q. Hand embroidery seem like a good idea. I am not sure what I am going to do with it but it is fun and relaxing to work on. This might take a while, because I am going to embroider the whole design. I think the hard part will be hand embroidering that tiny copyright logo and those words. Check me out! hopefully I will continually post pics to show progress.
