Julie and Julia Blog/ Goodbye October
So Last post for the month. October 31 2010 I will never see you again, but you have been great. I have been watching my new favorite movie today Julie and Julia. It's about a writer that started a blog in 2002( I didn't even know about blogs in 2002) following her self assigned task of completing Julia Childs book Mastering the art of French cooking. I think it was like 500 so recipes and she wanted to use every recipe through the book in a year and she did it. So the movie was awesome! The Blog is pretty interesting too. So here is a link to the blog. I like reading it and following her as if I followed along in 2002. After a year and a half she stopped blogging on this blog, but I love technology because it is still there to find. Ooooooo Enjoy Julia Project Blog. And Peace out October!

CupCake Wars
As it is know to some and not know to a few, it is a fact that I love, just love, watching the Food network.
I like most things on there, like the Food network Challenges. I like it when they make it the cake challenges the most, but I will watch all of them. Some new shows have arrived like Chef vs. City and Cupcake Wars... Ok I thought it was dumb before but I am so loving it now. They have always have an event that they are trying to display their cupcakes. I was laughing because the episode I just saw( Which I have seen like a bunch of times) had four contestants( Well it's always four) and One of the contestants was like being a cupcake snob. I was like for real. Telling the other contestants that they dont' have good icing techiques and picking on the girl who make organic cupcakes and his little assistant being way too snobbish about some cupcakes. Guess what his cupcukes were the first to go. He mean cupcake man take that....lol.

Homemade Oreos...Part 2
Ok on Sunday I decided to try these suckers again. I lessen the amount of salt and made sure I paid close attention to the baking soda amount too! They came out great! yum yum just like oreos. Recipe found here on Joy the Baker's Blog
FATHER'S DAY
So Sunday was father's day. I was going to make my dad some breakfast , but my mom had already taken him to breakfast before I got back from early morning service. Sooooooooo I took him out for dinner. He said he want steak and we went to Outback Steak House. He loved it. He and my mom said they had a bad experience at an Outback they went to out of town, but I think Tallahassee Outback Won them over. After that we went to see my granddaddy. He and my grandma had been sick for the past week so it was good to see them feeling and looking better. He loved his father's day gift. Sunday was pretty awesome!

Homemade Oreos ...Part 1
Yeah I have a lot of blogging to catch you up on. First I got this recipe from Joy the Baker Blog and decided to to bake them this weekend. It was homemade oreos on Friday. Yum Right! But I ended up making them Twice because I made the first batch and they were awful. But the second batch came out AWESOME.
I kinda had all the ingredients at home already so I didn't have to go out and buy anything, well white chocolate
The mistakes were made here. I followed the recipe except when I put a teaspoon of baking soda instead of a 1/2 teaspoon. Yess this did mess up the batter and the cookies were awful. I think the recipe called for too much salt also.
For the most part this was an easy recipe to follow. No weird ingredients and it seem like it would only take like an hour or an hour and half to finish
This dough was like ugh to work with, it was like a fudge consistency, it was not fun it was too soft

Ok I am not going to go on and on about this, but I hate these things. They are biscuit cutters from walmart. They were plastic and three were in the pack when I say each cutter had a rubber band around it... it's ridiculous to try and get them free they were plastic and the rubber bands are rubber and not a good combination, we could barely get it open. Sigh I digress.
None the less I ate them and they were nasty, they were salty and weird tasting, Messy night yes and I was not going out like that.... to be continued

Chocolate and Peanut Butter
Soooooo Baker J.R. Cofield is on the loose. So last night about 9:30pm I decided to make these chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing. ( I know I know peanut butter, but it is was really good it taste like a peanut butter cup but not sicking sweet it was just right) What's cool is that this chocolate cup cake was sooo different then the other ones, but it was so rich. Ummmmm I can't seem to find the recipe on stephaine's kitchen. Hhaahaha that means I have two peanut butter cupcake recipes. I the one I used was from joy the baker and here it is : Peanut butter cupcakes
Here is the one from Stephanie's Kitchen also.
