My favorite store to visit on when we go to first fridays

Yes I have returned to First Friday. I went with the regular crew. Two of my babies have graduated from High school and one of my sweeties is going to the 10th grade ( single tear) They grow up so fast. Well of course we had a good time oh and it was soooooooooooooooooooooo hot!!! Summer nights in Florida yucky.

First Friday 2011

Sorry I have been gone for a two weeks. I actually had stuff to blog about I just hadn't got to putting it up. I have nothing super special, just some things I have been doing . Well the first Friday of every month here in Tallahassee is First Friday. From previous post you know I love these Fridays when all the galleries stay open late and Railroad square is poppin' with galleries shows vintage shops and entertainment, oh yeah and a bunch are art lovers and artist. Ooooooo I love Art. Well this time I didn't get to go to railroad square but I went to some of the other galleries around town. It wasn't exciting as Railroad square, but cool no the less. This time my little homies didn't roll out with me in the cold to look at art, but my cousin did. I hope she had a good time. I told her welcome to my world and she just smiled

We went to Bonefish Grill afterwards, I think I look like a straight up girl from the 80's that night.

What a great night! I love First Fridays I can 't wait until February.

This was so deep. The engravings on the trophies had dates of massacres and the one standing alone has civic duty engraved on it. It was kinda sad, but a very effective art piece

Yes and another First Friday has passed. I really enjoyed. At first I thought I was going to be roaming around railroad Square alone, but my little homies got it together. We had a blast! They got to meet and talk to some of the artist. I think they had a good time so did I.

What a fabulous weekend I had. I think I will do it in parts. First Friday was upon us. It looked like I was going on this journey alone until Marc scooped up his nieces and nephew and brought them out to First Friday. We always go so it was fun as usual. Let's see we went out there and saw some great works by some of the students at FSU(Florida State University) Ok because I didn't have a pen I am going off of memory. There were some great sketches by a Peter Keoning and some wonderful abstract art by a joyden, ummmmmm and some really cool paintings. The paintings looked like color just place together to make a scene, When you stood back you could see what the scene was a lot clear. The youngest niece won a print the oldest niece got a dress and some cool shoes at the vintage shop and I got a clip and some earrings. I say all in all it was pretty good time.

Wonderful hand made pottery. I have the artist card but am not sure of the name right now. We did buy an artist card by ummmmm I forget her name too but I have her card I will post it later.

This was fun. It was an instillation by the music department at FSU. You were suppose to throw coins at it to make music. We really like. But one of my girls just kept hitting the wood and not the strings. poor baby

First Friday last Friday was so much fun. This time it was just me and the girls. I took Marc's Nieces with me this time. We arrived at about 9:00pm so things were starting to close up but I think they still had a good time. I did.

I went the local Gallery Hop here in Tallahassee. They call it First Fridays. Along with me were my boyfriends nieces and nephew. I had a great time. We saw some great works and had the opportunity to talk with local artist. They had a great time. Can't wait until next month!
