Today is my parent's 31st annivesary. WhooooooooooooHooooooooooooo and counting. So here is the story. Now my dad came home late yesterday and was like. "Oh by the way Janine can you make a card for your mom for me to give to her on our Anniversary" I was looking cross eyed at my dad because it was like 10:30pm. "Daddy are you for real" He was like " yes" So I went to my room and started pulling out my paper and weird stuff I like to use and went to work. I didn't finish until about 12:30am. So my Dad gives her the card this morning and my mom is like " I knew Janine was making me a card, I told her I don't want any more store brought cards" I said Mama for real you knew I was making the card all this time" Needless to say she liked it and is not expecting another store brought card ever, she said it's a waste of money. Pressure on, Thanks Mommy!

Happy Birthday Pastor!
Sunday was my pastors B-Day and it was requested for everyone to bring a card and if they wanted to to put something in it. So i was like awesome I can do that, mind you they said this for like two weeks. Saturday was a huge day for me. I shot a wedding and I had not shot one since like 07' so I was a little nerves, but the couple and their families were amazing! My second shooter was amazing! The videographer was amazing! So i guess you get it....hahahhaha it was amazing! So I was so tired Saturday I went home and crashed. Sunday arrives and I hear my alarm at 5am, now I was suppose to get up and make this card but I went right back to sleep until 7am. Shame Shame Shame I know. Church starts at 8am! So I got up, slowly I might add, took a shower and fix myself right and about time I was done with that, it was 8am. I had a decision to make leave now or make this card. If i didn't' make it then I knew it was done for, it wasn't getting made. So my pastor is awesome so I decide to make it! To make a long story short I was 40mins late for church, but I promise I didn't miss a thing. Service was awesome as usually!

Mother's Day Cards
Well Mother's day was last weekend. I love my mommy and grandmothers so much. We had a great time. We took them out to eat and just enjoyed the company. But the night before I was up making Mother's day cards. Can I tell you my room looked like a hurricane came through, I had paper and glue and stickers everywhere. It was awesome to be in work mode like that once again. But they turned out great at least I think so and my mother and grandmother really like them and that's all that matters.

Shea Butter is What I Do!!!!!
I have been working on keeping my skin well moisturised. I have eczema and have been having a terrible bout with my dry skin. So after reading and staying on blogs i just started being diligent and consistent on the products I used. So this is nothing different then what is out there on You tube and other blogs. So my skin feels 100 times better and it's really soft too! So my homegirl who I love dearly asked me to help her and since I live on side of the US and she lives on the other side I decided to make this video for her. Soooooooooooooooo Homie this is for you, Haahahahah I hope you like it and I hope it does help.
My new favorite blog now is Moptop Maven, it is full of so much information and just healthy living. It's funny I think I found this blog at the beginning of the year and now just looking at how far it's come. It's amazing. I have already learned so much from her blog.

Fix and Transform/ Birthday shirt
Yes I am starting to finish some projects that have been neglected for the past year. But this isn't one of them I will post those projects later. This is a Fix and transform. Some one had given me a shirt that their daughter put a hole in, it was her favorite shirt and she has had it for a long time, so I stitch the hole up( yeah that took like 10min) and the other areas where the seams were coming loose. Then I place a thermal iron on to hide the stitch. I love fixing old clothes or finding use for things people no longer want to use, so this was right up my ally. Now she doesn't have to throw it away. Sweet!
So this same little girl had a birthday in July so I decided to make her a shirt for the new school year. Yep the same Thermal Iron on. They are great. Yes and she loves loves loves Hello Kitty.
Ok it was a hole at the elbow and a couple of the seams around the waist and arms were coming a loose |
Hole is fixed and Hello Kitty has found a new home. Yea!! |

I had to try it on to make sure it looks good. |
Oh yeah before I forgot I had words on the shirt. Silly Janine Mirrors reverse. |
Then I wrapped everything a fat quarter, she loves pink. I did stitch a hole close on her jacket too. It's inside there |

Lap Scarf
I have finally finished one of my many projects that have been left uncompleted since last year. Ok Ok I don't think this particular one has been on the shelf that long, but I know it has been at least 5 or so months. It's a lap scarp for you lap of course. heeheh it's suppose to go over your lap when you have a dress or skirt on in church and you are sitting in the pews and you don't want to show anything. wink wink.... Old lady ushers would put these white cloths over your lap in church. I made this one for someone at church, I hope she likes it.
My homie was very kind to model this for me after church... she didn't even know she was going to do but I did. Get it "First Lady" |
hgMY hand embroidery is getting so much better. Oh yes and that fabric is super slippery, Ooooooo I forget I think it's moleskin. |

Shirt Enhancement!!!!!!
So I bought these $1.00 iron on rinstones at Michaels craft store. They are really cute and I think it would just be fun to freshen up some older clothes. So I buy like a few of them and I give them to young girls and keep some for myself. Now I was a little confused on how these things worked. I thought they can't be that difficult they are only a dollar. Well anyway I used on the first time on Saturday and It looks great. Now I am going to find old shirts and hook them up.

Let's sew at Christmas
Ok So Christmas is approaching fast and if you know that most churches are on their way to putting on some type of Christmas program. Well my church is no different. Our Christmas Cantata is this Sunday. There will be singing, speeches, essays and inspirational dancing to hold you over for the entire Christmas season. Well my cousin's wife (now my cousin. Yea!) is over the dance team in our church and she wanted to get wraps for her and the girls to where for the Christmas Program. So I suggest sewing something instead of just wrapping fabric around their bodies. Nothing complicated just something to go over their leotard. So Craft project begins. First we went and found some fabric she liked( of course we went to Jo anns that is the only fabric have everything fabric store we have here) Then last night we did some mock ups and I showed her how to sew for the first time. Now let me mention we tried to do this on Monday and at the church and I forgot my petal.( silly me!) So now today Friday we are going to try to finish.

We liked this fabric too but had no use for it Yet!

Design Again

Sorry I have been on a hiatus. Life defiantly throws blows that will knock you down, but God will slowly help you back up and clean you up. So I am still getting help up so I am functioning better. So anyway while that stuff was happening I found time to work on these invites for a retirement party in August. It was fun. So now we are working of favors and other goodies. I will keep you posted. I haven't been sewing haven't felt like it so we will see about it tonight( of course I am just using a pattern that I have already sewn I just can't help myself. I promise I will move on to a new pattern.) Also I am suppose to be making two dress for two people for two different birthdays. I hope they like their gifts. I need to start!

Handmade Products
I was working on selling some of the products that I produce, but only on a custom order because of the items but I was thinking of making some more and selling them to a boutique or something I am not sure. But when I told them the price they said it was too much so I didn't end up selling them but I do have some lovey products to show.
